As I’m sure everyone has heard by now, the U.S. House of Representatives has voted to impeach President Donald Trump, and Pelosi has finally deigned to deliver the articles of impeachment to the Senate. I, along with many other errornet commentators, suspect that this political sham will fall along party lines, and that Donald Trump will remain president of the United States for the remainder of his term, and probably for the next as well. (Love him or hate him, this is probably a good thing for the country.) I also suspect that the leftists will continue to do everything in their power to thwart his success, influence, and purview. Whatever.
I don’t really so much care about all this, except for the fact that the same anti-Trump faction is continually mounting more and more brazen attacks on our rights through legislative fiat. The current events taking place in Virginia right now should be ample proof of that.
The real problem is that the leftists are going to have about as much respect for the Senate’s decision as they do for our rights and our liberty. I am increasingly convinced that we have a fight on our hands, and I fear for the future of our country.
I know we rarely delve into politics here at the blog, but I also cannot ignore the extremist factions and divisive fractures that threaten the remaining vestiges of the America I grew up in.
So, in no particular order… vote accordingly. Turn off the news and sharpen your brain with knowledge and critical thought. Read relevant books. Sharpen your blades. Hone your skills and tactics. Maintain your weapons in a state of readiness and get good with what you’ve got. Cultivate a network of family and friends that is resilient and resourceful. Maintain your health with exercise and proper diet.
I’m going to channel the Mandalorian here… indeed, weapons are part and parcel of my, of our, religion.
“This is the way.”
